Kawasaki Expansion


Kawasaki was expanding their manufacturing capabilities for their USA hydraulics division. For the upcoming trade show circuit, Kawasaki was looking for a way to communicate the benefits of USA production and show their facility to their customers.

The Challenges

The expansion would only be partially complete at the time of launch. Communicating the message without sound due to the trade show environment.

Here's how we did it in 3 weeks

Kawasaki came to us with a tight timeline. We needed to identify our core messaging, design a video approach that works with the current state of their construction, and edit the videos within three weeks.

We kicked off the project with a strategy meeting, going over messaging and visual approaches to the project. The messaging needed to be concise and communicate the high level ideas at a glance. On-screen text was used to communicate this in a soundless environment.

We leveraged 3D animation and motion graphics

Our final approach would rely heavily on 3D animation and motion graphics. We modeled and animated the hydraulic models from CAD data provided to us.

Video was strategically captured

At the time of filming, we only had a small portion of the facility to work with. Framing and camera movements had to be carefully planned out to not show certain parts of the facility.

We adapted the trade show video for the website

While the primary objective was the trade show circuit, there was an opportunity to market this on their website and through email marketing. We crafted a scripted and sourced a voiceover artist to narrate the video.

On Time and On Budget

We completed the project on time and with enough lead time for their trade show circuits. Here's what Kawasaki had to say about the project.
